It all begins with a vision...
I am Audris Rozelle.
I have always enjoyed the magic that manifests through the creative and performing arts. Through written words, I am captivated and empowered to express myself through ways that may be hard to articulate through oral communication. My goal is to help others to encounter and embrace that same magic.
I am a writer and have just released my first book of poetry, When the Mind Rests Here. I am completing my memoir, Grapes to Wine, and looking forward to completing my first piece of fiction, The Water I Give. I also enjoy the art of dance and have spent time in choreography. In addition to my memoir, I write poetry, plays, short fiction, literary journalism stories, devotionals, non-fiction, legal letters, and song lyrics. I am producing work in all of the mentioned areas and I am taking my time in completing them. As the Holy Spirit leads, I write:)
This gift that God has given to me is not just to benefit me, but to also help others achieve their artistic goals. I want to attract aspiring youth and young adults to give them an opportunity to make better use of their skills and knowledge and most importantly, to help them believe that hope for the better is available once the first step towards it is taken. With God's amazing grace, I look forward to doing this through a creative and performing arts initiative called Concrete Oasis.
At Concrete Oasis, adolescents and young adults will have the opportunity to explore all of the areas in the creative arts field. Poets, writers of all sorts, artists, dancers, singers, actors, photographers, filmmakers, and directors are all welcome to join and participate. We will also offer Christian counseling and mentors to those who have expressed interest or strive through social struggles. Everyone who comes to CO will be provided with the tools and training to become leaders in the field and most of all, exercise faith in the gift that God has placed in them. There will be summer internships for high school and college students interested in business, marketing, writing, editing, photography, journalism, art, creative design, counseling, dance, theater, and music. And the best part...our goal is to offer all of this for free!!
Concrete Oasis is in the process of becoming a nonprofit agency; donations and sponsors are welcome, investors are invited for consideration. Any product or program published under Concrete Oasis Creative Arts Ministry will have a portion of the proceeds donated to specific charitable organizations. If you are interested in taking part of this venture, please email me at [email protected]
